What are polynucleotides, and the benefits of these injectable treatments?

Polynucleotides are an injectable bio-stimulator, and the molecules are made from salmon DNA which mirrors human DNA. When injected it stimulates our own cells to produce collagen and elastin something that we lose with the ageing process. It increases our fibroblast cells improving tissue regeneration restores skin tone and elasticity therefore resulting in skin that looks and feels healthier. 

How do polynucleotides differ to injectable skin boosters, like Profhilo?

Although similar in terms of the effects they provide such as hydration like hyaluronic acid skin boosters, polynucleotides are composed of nucleotide chains, which are the building blocks of DNA. Polynucleotides work on a cellular level to stimulate cellular repair and regeneration enhancing collagen production which improves skin elasticity and promote overall skin hydration and rejuvenation. Also, they work in all the areas many skin boosters can’t, such as the eyes, lips, and forehead.

Where are polynucleotides typically injected?

They can be used for the face, neck, jawline, cheekbones, and effectively under the eyes.

How long do polynucleotide injections last?

Polynucleotide injection longevity varies from person to person, this is influenced by such factors as individual metabolism and lifestyle choices. On average, results can last anywhere from six months to a year. Regular maintenance sessions may be recommended to sustain the optimal effects of the treatment. 

How many treatments will I require?

Initially two treatments are required, spaced 2-4 weeks apart.  

Who cannot have polynucleotides?

As with all aesthetics treatments a full consultation will determine if polynucleotides are appropriate for you. Conditions and situations that may exclude individuals from undergoing polynucleotide injections include pregnancy & breastfeeding, active skin infections, autoimmune disorders, bleeding disorders and allergies (fish allergies).
